SOME IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• All students are expected to have appropriate clean footwear for gym and for wearing inside the school. 
• Please send in your conference schedule preferences as soon as possible. Unfortunately many of the most popular time slots have already been filled up (first 3 on Monday and first 3 on Thursday). Please indicate some other possible choices if your from has been returned back to you. I will send home confirmations as soon as the majority of the class has been slotted in.
• No school - next Thursday, Feb. 18th or Friday, Feb. 19th for students 
•  ZOE and MOLLY internet safety pamphlets were discussed in class and sent home to review with families

Novel Study - Wrap Up

CITY OF EMBER DUO TANG - DUE Friday, February 12th, 2016

You will be handing in your novel study duotang next Friday ensuring that all in-class activities have been completed in addition to the 3 Final Activities outlined below:

3 Final Activities

1.     Complete a Plot Rollercoaster summarizing the 5 elements of plot of this novel.

2.    Complete a word search using 18 new vocabulary words. Choose 3 to complete “Dictionary Definitions” on back of word search.

3.    Complete a 2 part book review of the novel according to the format below:

BOOK REVIEW FORMAT:

1.     Summarize and let readers know what the story is about. What genre of book? What can they look forward to in this book without spoiling the ending? Who are the main characters? What is the problem?

2.    Your opinion: What did you like most? What was your favourite part. Would you recommend this novel? How would you rate this novel?
