Roald Dahl One Pager Book Report

 One-Pager Independent Reading Report Project

A one-pager is a way of responding to a book on one piece of paper (8.5 X14 or 11 X17). It represents your own written and graphic interpretation of what you have read. In this report you will show facts and information about the book as well as creating a visual representation of the book. The entire page must be filled with colour, images and text. You may opt to create a border to frame your one-pager.

The Criteria - The following elements MUST be included

  • BOOK TITLE (or titles if including more than one) and AUTHOR

  • QUOTE: An important quote (put in quotation marks and with page number) AND a brief explanation of why/how this quote is important to the story or why it’s your favourite.

  • KEY WORDS: Minimum of 5 key vocabulary words (include the page numbers that words were found on).

  • CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: An illustration of main character and a word cloud of character traits and/or brief description of the character.

  • IMAGE/VISUAL: At least one additional graphic representation (drawing, diagram, picture,, symbol or other visual) of something related to the book. Include a brief explanation why/how this symbol is important to the book

  • PERSONAL COMMENT: A personal response using “I” to what you have read. Write a brief paragraph about what you thought of the book. Consider using specific examples from the novel to support your thinking or write about what you think the theme or message of the novel is.

Be creative and remember to fill the entire page! This is a final project and should be polished (no pencil) and eye catching but also thoughtful and reflective.
